On Thursday, Michael Avenatti took to Twitter to express his frustration about Stormy Daniel's not receiving enough credit for "exposing" Donald Trump's supposed collusion with the Russian government.
Think Outside Politics co-Founder Anthony Leonardi then pressed Avenatti on his claim.
Avenatti responded that if it were not for him and his client (Stormy Daniels), there would be no prosecution, warrants, pleas, or any form of cooperation between former Trump campaign staffers and Robert Mueller's investigative team. However, because Avenatti has no special knowledge of Mueller's findings other than what has been released to the public, his claim remains unsubstantiated and without evidence.
Based on Avenatti's response, it's apparent that he believes the Mueller investigation would be utterly lost without his legal challenges aimed at President Trump. So, Leonardi pressed him.
Avenatti then lashed out at Leonardi for asking him to clarify his position, calling him "foolish".
Avenatti became a media personality in 2018 after representing Stormy Daniels, a porn-star who allegedly had an affair with Donald Trump in 2006. In 2016, Daniels signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with Michael Cohen, then-candidate Trump's personal lawyer. Daniels was paid $130,000 dollars by Cohen to remain silent regarding her affair with Trump. Thus far, a federal judge has dismissed one of the cases that Daniels filed against the President.
After teasing a possible 2020 presidential run for months, Avenatti was accused of domestic abuse in November 2018. Weeks after the accusation, Avenatti announced he would not be running for President "out of respect for his family".
